The Weather Channel Desktop 5.2 is a desktop utility to access local weather information.
You download and installer, that gets the up-to-date files from Internet. WARNING: the installer assumes that your path to program files is C:\Program Files. If it´s not, you must copy the files wherever you got it to C:\Program Files, otherwise the installation will be aborted. During the installation you will be offered to install three additional toolbars: Yahoo!, The Weather Channel and Dealio. None of them are essential for the program to run.

You can customize the appearance of your application using several predefined color schemes.

The Weather Channel Desktop will rest then as an icon in your system tray, showing you the temperature in the chosen location. If you double click over that icon, you can access some more weather information through several pages. In Home you will find a map of your location (with clouds, radar images, etc.), its temperature, if it´s cloudy, sunny or raining, the Pollencast for Today and Tomorrow and the forecast for today, tomorrow, three days more and the weekend. The other pages will show you Extended Forecasts, Weather Maps, Local Traffic, Weather News, Travel, Outdoor Living, Green Living Tips, Just for Fun, Downloads and weathe info and scores for the Major League Baseball.

Ann Mooseana You folks frighten the entire Southeastern United States half to death. Your estimates and forecasts of the dangers were far over stated, and predictions terribly inaccurate. Your entire demeanor was one of entertainment rather than good honest accurate news reporting. Many of your on air reporters seemed to be rooting for the storm to intensify. They seemed unhappy because the dry air masses that hindered the storms kept developing.
I realize there are a lot of dedicated people who worked long and hard to cover the development of the storm, it's regretful that the didn't produce a quality news product!
