StarBurn allows performing various operations related to optical storage media. In this regard, it supports all types of discs, including CD, DVD, Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. The tool can be described as being very easy to use, as every time you run the program, there appears a sort of dash panel with links to all its functions. Clicking on any of the links starts the corresponding wizard, with a series of steps no one will have trouble to follow. However, if you don’t feel comfortable with this approach, you can always choose the old-school mode, which is much more alike the interfaces of other similar programs.
This program can probably do anything involving discs. It may burn data with the possibility of creating bootable discs. Besides, this tool can burn video in DVD, VCD and SVCD formats. As to audio, the program can burn standard and MP3 discs. Likewise, it can rip audio CDs and even convert audio files to other formats. Fortunately, when you create a disc, you don’t need to burn it right away, as you can save it as an image file instead. Likewise, the application can not only burn discs from an image but also save the contents of a disc as an ISO file. Finally, it also lets you erase rewritable discs.
In general, StarBurn has the main advantage of being very versatile and easy to use. However, this tool doesn't allow such frequent operations as copying a disc into another. Besides, it has some limitations as to creating DVDs, which are related to designing your own menus, dividing the disc into chapters and adding subtitles.
