PDF Reader for Windows 7 is not only a PDF reader, as its name states, but also a PDF converter.
This utility offers a satisfying number of viewing options and can also perform some conversions from PDF to other file formats. The viewing options include "Fit Page", "Fit Width", "Actual Size", zooming in and out and to a preferred percentage and rotating the pages. The conversions can be made by means of saving the PDF file to a desired extension, with no conversion button being available.
Pages are converted one by one, as the file cannot be fully converted with a single "save as" action. The documents will not be converted to Office formats, but there are a few extensions to choose from, respectively: TXT, BMP, JPG, GIF, PNG, WMF, EMF, EPS. When browsing a document one can jump to a page of choice and can also choose the slide show mode for viewing the file.
A shortcoming of the utility is that it will not open password-protected documents.
Bottom line, it offers enough to those interested mainly in viewing a PDF file and less in making particular conversions.
- Easy to use for viewing PDF documents
- Does not make conversions to Office file formats.
- Makes conversions only for one page at a time
