Google StreetView Images Downloader is a very nice app. It can be used to download Street View images from Google Maps. Street View is a feature of Google Maps that lets you see what specific points in the map look like. The images were taken with a car mounted with cameras, so you can see both sides of a street in very good detail.
To download an image, you have to know its coordinates. You have to manually input the latitude and longitude of the image, and specify a zoom level. This is, in my opinion, the program's weak point. If you are anything like me, you would have to do a Google search to know how to translate a Google Map URL to coordinates, which can be an important loss of time. My point here is that it would be great if the app incorporated an easier way to specify what image you want to download.
From the "Tools" menu, you can access an image combiner and an image viewer. The viewer lets you open task files and see complete images. The combiner lets you mix several images into one.
In short, the application does work well, but it isn't the easiest tool to use.
- It works well.
- Image viewer and combiner
- It's hard to specify what you want to download
