AnVir Task Manager Free is a comprehensive system monitoring suite that lets you track and control the running processes, the system services, the startup programs and many other important aspects of a Windows computer. It can be used as a more powerful alternative to the default Windows Task Manager.

Despite being very complex and feature-rich, AnVir Task Manager Free is also intuitive and easy-to-use. Its neat interface makes navigating through its many functions a simple job. Anyway, the thoroughness of its features remains its biggest advantage. It enables you to view every little detail of a running process or service, such as the involved drivers, network connections or DLL files, or performance parameters like the disk load, in easy-to-understand graph-based representations.

This application will also help you increase the security level of your system, as it provides security risk ratings applicable for each active process, service and startup program and notifications for whenever suspicious changes are about to occur to the system startup area.

I also like a lot the fact that this application, despite being free, also includes a system tweaking utility next to its already numerous features. This tweaker lets you access and change a lot of Windows settings, some of them being hidden ones that could have been otherwise tweaked only by using the registry editor.

In an end note, it is indeed hard to believe that this application is free, considering how much it offers, yet this is the naked truth. It proves that the saying “best things in life are free” is based on true facts.
