AIDA64 is an application that provides information about your PC. When something happens to my friend's computer, AIDA64 is the first program I use, since it can show advanced details about the hardware components.
AIDA64 is capable of showing real-time values of temperature sensors for the CPU core, graphics card, motherboard, etc. as well as the tachometer readings for cooling fans. These help you easily detect an overheating problem. Under the SMART section, you can see whether the hard disk has any bad sectors or not. On laptops, it will show the power usage and the battery damage in percentages. If you want to fine-tune your monitor, the Monitor Diagnostics tool will be helpful. It contains color palettes necessary to set up an LCD or CRT display.
What I like the most about this program are the benchmarking tools. They allow you to compare your PC’s hardware with the latest processors and memory modules. They use HyperThreading, multiple CPUs, and other diagnostic tools, on systems that support those, to give you an accurate result. The Extreme version targets home users. Hence, it lacks network auditing and remote desktop features.
